The factory process has these stages: First fundition process, the raw material (copper, aluminium, niquel and zinc) are melted with high temperatures and there are produced “flejes”. Then, the fleje is worked to 800 celcius degrees to guarantee the necessary hardness. Third, the sheet is processed in a punch that cut the “cospeles” (Those are the little pieces of coins). The excess of material is molten again to other process.
After, the “cospel” is worked in different machines to give color, quality and gleam. Then, those “cospeles” are checked and the operator throws the cospeles with blows, scratches or cracks. Finally, the “cospeles” are coin to convert in Colombian coins.
